A favorite dress that you can measure flat

Each listing has a Gorgetly size chart of garment measurements, which describe the dress itself and not the body inside it, so the closest match comes from measuring a dress that already fits you well:

  1. Lay the dress on a table, done up or tied as you wear it, and smooth out the wrinkles.
  2. Bust: lay the tape from underarm seam to underarm seam, read the number and multiply it by two.
  3. Length: measure down the front, from the top of the shoulder beside the neckline to the hem.
  4. Waist and hip, when the chart lists them: measure across the narrowest point and across the widest point below it, and multiply each by two.
  5. Pick the size whose bust and length are closest to your dress, using the chart on the listing of the dress you want.

Columns that each chart can have

Every chart gives the bust and the length in inches and centimeters. Of the 45 charts, 26 add the waist, 25 the sleeve, 9 the shoulder and 6 the hip, depending on what matters for the style. The sleeve figure runs from the shoulder seam to the sleeve’s edge; on the Women’s Belted Long Sleeve Shirt Dress with Flap Pockets in Black the shoulder seam is dropped, so its sleeve number starts lower on the arm.

Letters that each dress comes in

On October 3, 2026, size S is on sale in 44 dresses, M in 44, L in 42, XL in 39, 2XL in 18 and 3XL in 2, the Women’s Button Front Tiered Shirt Dress in Wine Red and the Women’s Ruffle Sleeve Wrap Mini Dress in Red. Five dresses skip a size in the middle of their range: the Women’s V-Neck Pointelle Knit A-Line Sweater Dress in Khaki has no M, the Women’s Ribbed Knit A-Line Sweater Dress with Pockets in Light Blue has no XL, and the Women’s Zip Front Utility Shirt Dress in Army Green, the Women’s Paisley Bell Sleeve Wrap Mini Dress in Multicolor and the Women’s Floral Long Sleeve Wrap Dress with Ruffle Hem in Blue have no L. The Women’s Tie Waist Ribbed Knit Midi Sweater Dress in Gray starts at M.

Styles whose maker says to size up

The maker of each of these dresses lists the style as running small, and its listing suggests one size up: the Women’s Cable Knit Pencil Sweater Dress in White, the Women’s Mock Neck Cable Knit Fit and Flare Sweater Dress in Black, the Women’s Color Block Cable Knit Sweater Dress in Black and White, the Women’s Ribbed Knit A-Line Sweater Dress with Pockets in Light Blue, the Women’s Striped Ribbed Knit Midi Sweater Dress in White and Black, the Women’s Ribbed Knit Maxi Sweater Dress in Gray, the Women’s Ribbed Knit Ruffle Hem Maxi Dress in Sage Green, the Women’s Striped Loose Knit Long Sweater Dress in Apricot and Black and the Women’s Floral Long Sleeve Wrap Dress with Ruffle Hem in Blue. Their charts already show the smaller measurements, so comparing numbers still works.

Knits that stretch to fit

Ribbed and cable knits are measured unstretched and are made to stretch when worn, so their bust numbers can be smaller than the body they fit. The Women’s Ribbed Knit Midi Sweater Dress with Flounce Hem in Wine Red lists 27.6 in (70 cm) around the bust in size M, which is why a knit dress should be compared with a knit dress you own and not with a woven shirt dress.

The 3 cm line that separates normal from wrong

Every Gorgetly chart is measured by hand and allows 2-3 cm (about 1 in) either way, which is normal for a garment that is laid flat and measured with a tape. A dress that measures more than 3 cm (about 1.2 in) away from its chart counts as not as described: measure it as shown above, photograph the tape against the dress, and email the photos within 21 days of delivery. Wraps whose bust can be adjusted

The Women’s Floral Flutter Sleeve Wrap Dress with Tiered Hem in Cream gives its bust and waist as ranges, such as 37 to 40.2 in (94 to 102 cm) across the bust in size M, because the wrap and the tie can be pulled tighter or looser. Choose the size whose range has your measurement near its middle, which leaves room to adjust both ways.

Exchanges that work as a return plus an order

There is no direct size swap. To get another size, place a new order for it and return the first dress as a change-of-mind return within 30 days of delivery; the postage to the return facility in China is yours to pay, and there is no restocking fee.
